blog 09222017aFall is a great time for eating vegetables in abundance. Notice the red and yellow vegetables which are the colors of the season and the leaves. As the days cool down, the colors of this fire energy will boost our lives. The scents of the season should be warm and inviting -- cinnamon and apples, cloves and oranges. The perfect warming beverage this season is, of course, apple cider!

Jewels for Bon Vivant Life

Citrus Apple Cider

Ingredients:

1 quart apple juice
½ bag cranberries
½ cup orange juice
3 cinnamon sticks
1 ½ tsp whole cloves
½ tsp Nutmeg
½ tsp Allspice

Directions:

In a large saucepan, combine ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Strain, discarding cinnamon sticks and cloves. Serve warm; garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired. Yield: 5 cups.
